Shedeur Sanders knows he needs to step up his game. Following a tough loss against the Bears, the rookie quarterback didn't mince words about his performance. After reviewing the game film, Sanders was even more critical of his three-interception showing. "I just got to play better," he admitted, as reported by Chris Easterling of beaconjournal.com. "I cannot make those costly turnovers and have the expectation to win."
This game marked a low point in Sanders's four starts, where he completed only 18 of 35 passes for 177 yards. He also suffered three interceptions and was sacked five times.
"I just got to get more completions," Sanders explained. "I got to get more completions and even whenever we’re down or anything I can’t press. I just got to remain having those mental notes to myself. Just work within the game and just keep driving the ball. Get first downs."
But here's where it gets interesting... Despite the rough outing, Sanders has shown flashes of brilliance, averaging 224.8 passing yards per game. His performance against the Titans in Week 14, where he threw for 364 yards, is a testament to his potential. However, he only managed two touchdowns in his initial three starts.
"Kept playing," Sanders said, reflecting on his approach. "Kept playing. That’s progress. Of course, it’s not the result we want to do, and I definitely take that to heart because I understand when I play winning football and when I don’t.
