Steelers' Star Receiver DK Metcalf Hospitalized with Stomach Pain
DK Metcalf, the Pittsburgh Steelers' standout wide receiver, was taken to a Baltimore hospital on Sunday evening after reporting stomach pain during the team's flight back from a 27-22 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Metcalf, who had a stellar performance with 148 receiving yards and seven catches, including a season-high, was removed from the plane as a precaution by the team's medical staff.
According to Steelers spokesperson Burt Lauten, Metcalf's condition was monitored at the hospital, and he spent the night in a nearby hotel. He is set to return to Pittsburgh on Monday. Metcalf's involvement in the game's special teams, as the gunner, and his jovial demeanor in the locker room post-game suggest he is unlikely to be severely injured.
The Steelers' next challenge is a Monday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins, with Metcalf's availability for this match still uncertain. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is expected to provide updates at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Metcalf's stellar performance and his role in the team's success have been a highlight of the season, and his health will be a key concern for the Steelers as they continue their AFC North title pursuit.
